By downloading or using Honest Vinyl Scanner ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. You must be 18 or older to use the app.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for identifying and cataloguing vinyl records. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer (except where the law allows it), or use the app to build a competing service.
Honest Vinyl Scanner uses AI-assisted image recognition and third-party catalogue data (the Discogs CC0 bulk dump) to identify records and estimate their market value. These are estimates, not guarantees. Pressing identification can be wrong, especially for rare or ambiguous pressings, and market value estimates fluctuate and may not reflect what you could actually buy or sell a record for. Do not rely on the app as the sole basis for a purchase, sale, insurance, or appraisal decision. When the app is uncertain, it says so — treat any identification without that caveat with the same reasonable skepticism.
This application is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs. "Discogs" is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC.
Catalogue information shown in the app — release titles, artists, labels, formats, track listings, barcodes and catalogue numbers — is data provided by Discogs, made available under a CC0 "No Rights Reserved" dedication. Where the app shows information about a specific release, it links to that release's page on discogs.com.
Asking prices come from the CDandLP marketplace. They are asking prices from individual sellers, not sale prices, and they change without notice. Where the app cannot find a listing for your exact pressing it may show an estimate from similar records, and it marks that estimate as one.
The app does not link you to a seller, and it carries no affiliate or referral links. Nothing we show you earns us a commission.
What Pro gives you. Pro raises your daily scan limit from about 25 to 100 scans a day. Everything else in the app is the same for free and Pro users.
Buying and renewal. You buy Pro through Google Play. Monthly and Annual plans renew automatically at the price shown until you cancel. Cancel any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or from Settings → Manage in Google Play. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime is a single payment and never renews.
14 days to change your mind. Email [email protected] within 14 days of any purchase, with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.), and we refund you in full. This covers your legal right of withdrawal as an EU consumer.
If we stop the service. If we stop Pro or the identification service, we refund subscribers the unused part of the period they paid for. If we stop within 3 years of a Lifetime purchase, we refund 1/36 of the Lifetime price for each full month left of those 3 years. We tell you in the app at least 30 days before.
Availability. We work to keep the service running, but scans can be unavailable for a time, for example during an outage at our AI provider. If Pro does not work for more than 7 days in a row, email us and we refund or extend your plan.
You have the statutory rights for digital content and services under Czech and EU law. Report a fault to [email protected]. We confirm that we received it and decide within 30 days. If we cannot fix it, you can ask for a price reduction or a refund.
If we cannot settle a complaint with you, you may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 15, 120 00 Praha 2, https://adr.coi.cz.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if paid digital content or services are not as described. Subject to that, the app is provided "as is" and "as available," without any further warranty, express or implied.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for harm to life or health. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the app — including reliance on an identification or value estimate.
We may stop the app or the identification service. If we do, the "If we stop the service" rules under Pro and payments apply. Because the app requires no account, for you "termination" simply means uninstalling the app; your locally-stored data is deleted with it (or sooner via Settings → Clear local data).
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. This does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence.
We may update these terms as the app changes. We show you a notice in the app at least 30 days before a change that affects Pro. If you do not accept it, you can cancel your subscription. If you hold Lifetime, email us within those 30 days and we refund 1/36 of the Lifetime price for each full month left of the 3 years from your purchase.
